The instruments above are all belonging to the “Brass Band” family and are only a few instruments of what a brass band can offer. The Cornet (the middle picture) is one of the smallest instruments a brass band can offer, then there’s the Tuba (right picture) which is the biggest instrument that the band can offer. We also have percussion available (Drums, Timpani etc.) If you would like to join the band you can even if you are an experienced player or even a beginner, because we have 2 rehearsal classes:- 1. Learner’s rehearsal which is on a Monday night from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. There will be a fee of £1 a week for this. In this rehearsal you will learn all the basics there are to a Brass band, from blowing into the instrument to reading music. Please contact us before turning up. 2. “Senior Rehearsal” what we call it, is for the more experienced person. If you join this class then you will already know what happens in a rehearsal, so I won’t mention anything there. Rehearsals are on a Monday & Friday night from 7PM - 9PM. There is a £1.50 fee a week for this, which helps the band buy the necessary items that it requires If you would like to hear what a brass band sounds like before joining you can purchase a CD here.
